QCA Scheme of Work ICT Website :
ICT
is connected and linked to all other subject .
When
using ICT teachers should
keep the focus on the
subject itself and
should make ICT
a routine choice for a wide range of tasks within
all subjects.
Students must be fully familiar with
ICT the
connection with
subject . All
resources and techniques are closely
linked with
ICT in all subjects
.
Sometime ago, ICT
did not exist as a separate
subject; students
learned how to use computer and technology while
learning other subjects. Now while
ICT was being made a
compulsory subject
for all students in
most countries around the world still students can learn
ICT while learning other subjects and that gives them
more practical and live connection with real word .

Investigating rivers
Whilst undertaking fieldwork collect information
for a database e.g. height, depth, width and
speed of the river at different sections along
its course. Enter the data into a database and
use it to find answers to questions.
Database ie Textease Database; Information
Magic; Information Workshop.
Ask the children to find out further information
about the river they are studying, by using the
Internet. Create a multimedia presentaion on
their river.
The Internet. Multimedia program i.e. Textease
2000; PowerPoint; Illuminatus.
Ask the children, in groups, to investigate a
mountain environment, using the Internet and
other sources. Children present their findings,
to the rest of the class, as a multimedia
presentation.
The Internet. Multimedia program ie Textease
2000; PowerPoint; Illuminatus.
CD-ROMs ie
Encarta World Atlas, Comptons 3-D World Atlas,
Eyewitness World Atlas.
In this
unit children use their own experience, particularly of
being at school, as a springboard to find out about the
influence that the ancient Greeks continue to have on
our lives. Children use a wide range of sources,
including archaeology, to find out about the ancient
Greeks and compare a past society with society today.
